Installation at Maine Farmland Trust Gallery

Here are some snaps from my installation titled "Landline" at Maine Farmland Trust Gallery in Belfast, Maine. It is made from mixed media and recycled rotary phones. The receiver plays an audio track as well (you can't hear it in the photos). This is a great looking show featuring work by Lucinda Bliss, Kenny Cole, Avy Claire, Robert Shetterly, Susan Camp, and myself. More info at the Maine Art Scene blog.

Contemporary art seminar in Mexico

In June I attended the "Contemporary Art World in Context" CIEE International Faculty Development Seminar in Mexico. The majority of our time was spent in Guanajuato, with trips to San Miguel de Allende, Toluca, and a few days in Mexico City. It was an incredible trip visiting museums, galleries, universities, and historical sites.

Feature in Maine Home + Design

My installation Cupcake Hunt was featured in my profile in the 2013 "Art Issue" of Maine Home + Design magazine. Curator and writer Britta Konau put this year's feature together, and it was focused on artists who work in a variety of media. The quotation in my profile reads:
"Everything starts with drawing, but I’ve never felt the need to be tied to one medium. Rather, I think of myself as a story teller, and discovering what medium will best tell the story is part of my process. I like to explore the variety of experiences a viewer might have with an intimate drawing versus, say, an environment."
